It's been a LOOOOOONG time since I've written. I have been doing things! I've been making, and knitting and gardening and sewing and all sorts! I've just not managed to blog about it. Tut tut...
So... earlier on in May, Rachel and I decided that SOMETHING needed to be done about the front garden. The plants we had put in pots out there were clearly not enjoying the North facing, constantly shaded lifestyle. It was looking bleak on the left, with some angry looking spikey plants and a dead fushia...
So we improved it, with a cute and chirpy little box sphere and an adorable miniature conifer. Much prettier!
On the right hand side, the garden was even bleaker! A pathetic looking yellowy plant which hadn't grown for two years, some dead daffodils, which had clearly not appreciated me transplanting them this spring, and a more attractive purple leafed thing.
A much better look - another box sphere and another adorable conifer. I do like cute little conifers!
Check out how smart our front door looks now! Like a little toy house!
We also nipped down to Baylham Farm during one weekend, and met an adorable new addition to the family - this strangely patterned baby Golden Guernsey goat! So sweet!
And we enjoyed chatting to the Highland coos.
The rabbits have been very much enjoying playing in the garden, when the weather has allowed. Right now they're merrily bounding about, having breakfasted on the desolate remains of the pansies and violas. See how sweet and well behaved they can be though:
And the other big project I'm currently working on is this:
Baby T-M, a.k.a. Squirt or "The Bumpling" is due in January. So as you might imagine, this has resulted in a crazed flurry of knitting needles and crotchet hooks in our household. Our baby, still only 11cm long, is already proud owner of:
A beautiful crotcheted ripple blanket, made by Mummy Rachel:
A cute little giraffe toy, knitted by Grandma Fiona:
Some little speckled booties, also knitted by Grandma Fiona:
A bright red jacket, knitted by Mummy Rachel:
Some not-quite-finished (they need popppers sewn on) booties crotched by me:
And the back and half a side of a stripy jumper which I'm currently working on:
I got the pattern from a brilliant book by Millamia, which has patterns for babies right up to young children, all made with beautiful soft Merino wool. The best thing is that they're all brightly coloured - I am not keen on putting Baby in pastel colours.
My Mum (Grandma Fiona) has made three other outfits at LEAST, and my Grandma (Great-Grandmama Mina) is working on a matinee cardigan, I believe. Thank heavens the baby is due during the winter - he or she is going to be warm and snug!
So I've not been slacking, even though I haven't been blogging! Now it's the summer holidays, and Rachel and I are very excited, because we're going to London to watch Olympic table tennis tomorrow! And we have a new camera, so we will be able to take good action shots (we hope).
Oh! I nearly forgot! I've also been busy sewing recently, because I made my wonderful TA Chris a pencil case as her summer holiday gift. I do love a bit of felting. I used pretty much every design and stitch I knew on this case:
While I was taking a photo of those, I also grabbed the glasses case I made her for Christmas, because I'd never taken a picture of that:
Ok...that's definitely everything now. I'll go quickly, before I think of anything else I've forgotten!
