These pictures are actually from last weekend, when I took the camera for a tour of our garden. I'm pleasantly surprised that after all the heartache, our flowerbeds, although not bursting with flowers, are at least quite colourful:
The Cosmos, now that it's too cold for the rabbits to go out and vandalise it very often, is growing magnificently:
And we have snapdragons of many colours. I do so love a snapdragon!
Our patio still looks lovely after we re-arranged it. Unusually, we have to grow our carrots in troughs on the patio table, so the rabbits can appreciate the entire carrot rather than murdering it at the point of germination:
I do love seeing the autumn mushrooms springing up all over the lawn. I mean, yes, they are poisonous so I have to make sure that the animals don't eat them. And they may well be a sign of an overlly damp lawn, who knows. But they're just so autumnal! Nothing says the seasons are changing like the leaves of the maple tree changing colour and the mushrooms all over the lawn.
Our harvest has been less than impressive this year, but we are very proud of this last apple. Unfortunately, because I was determined to leave it on the tree long enough for it to grow a reasonable size, it split. Uneven watering, that's the problem. A drought early on dried out the skin, then it threw it down with rain a lot in the space of one week. Thus: an exploded apple:
The tomato plants are still quietly producing tomatoes. We get about four every week, just right for our lunch on Saturday. Cute!
