Well my gosh. I am shattered. Christmas was wonderful, but exhausting. Actually, it was mostly the run-up to Christmas which was tiring, since I had so many projects on my wishlist for other people. I actually expected it to take longer to upload all the photos.
Sooo... here goes. First, these weren't technically Christmas gifts - and I technically only have a photo of ONE of them, but I made two dinky little fleece clouds for two new babies who have just joined the world this month. Both totally gorgeous and scrumptious (the babies, that is, not the clouds. Although they are scrumptious too!). Cuddling them made me very nostalgic for Baby R's very early days.
Then there were these crochet square slippers for my sister Kirsty, since she'd been eyeing mine up. She was very happy with them, I think. They are very comfy - but I've found it's essential to tie a ribbon through the back to lace around your ankles, else they fall off all the time.
Another little crochet project was for Chris - designed by Lucy for the Yarndale booklet. A sweet little birdie brooch. (Is it me, or is the spelling of brooch crazy? It should totally be brOAch. Weird.)
Oh, THIS was a fun project. My other sister, Becka, wanted some cushions for her spare room. Some blue cushions. And what do I happen to have a HUGE stash of? Oh yes, denim! One Pinterest board later and I was whizzing away. One butterfly cushion, one stripey cushion. I might need another stripey one myself. Not that I've got a cushion obsession, of course!
I did the back in Lucy style, and covered some buttons with co-ordinating fabric myself. LOVING the contrasting yellow. They look rather lovely in Becka's spare room.
For Mum, to match her door sign, I covered a photo frame for her sewing room. Quite a fiddly job, that one. I'm pleased with it, though. Shabby chic.
Knitting wise, there were two projects to be done. One, which I've already told you about - One Mr Fireman Sam:
He was for Toddler H, and this little guy was for his tiny baby brother, another Baby R.
For MY Baby R's buddies, I hand-stitched Christmas tree decorations. There are so many brilliant designs on Pinterest, I had such fun making them. Unfortunately I only had time to make one for our own tree. I'd like to make some more for us next year.
And FINALLY (literally, these were finished the morning before we went to Norfolk to commence Christmas celebrations) I made Baby R some more Big Butt Baby Pants. I'd bought this fabric all the way back in the summer, when we at Yarndale. They are a bit 1970's, I fear, with all that orange corderoy. Cute though. Very cute.
Phew. No wonder I'm a bit worn out. I had aimed to make some Christmas bunting with the fabric I bought two years ago specifically for the purpose, but I'm afraid I only got as far as cutting out, what with running round after my nearly-toddler, popping back to work to get planning done for my return in January and other Christmassy events. It's been completely hectic.
I feel that a great weight has been lifted, now I've managed to write this post. I have another post saved as a draft about Christmas decorating, but that'll have to wait. I need to do some more tired Mummy vegging.
