Dear Baby O,
You kept us waiting little one. Since your big brother arrived a week early, we were geared up for your arrival a full three weeks ago. Then we waited... and waited... and waited some more!
But finally, here you are, and how perfect you are. From the top of your soft, soft head to the soles of your dry, wrinkly feet (that's what happens when you stay inside too long, young lady!)
We had just a PERFECT birth experience. Fast, calm, relaxed and ecstatic. I'm still bouncing around on fluffy clouds of euphoria, re-living moments of your arrival whenever I have a moment to daydream. Well done for getting your timing so right. You took just long enough to allow my Mum and a midwife to get to us, long enough for us all to have a relaxed chat and get to know each other a bit and then out you squirmed! You knew exactly what to do.
Little R, who was there watching you come into the world is EXTREMELY proud. He's slowly gaining confidence around you. This was his second cuddle - requested by him. He sat himself leaning against this cushion, tapped his legs and asked for you to be put on his legs. He likes to gently stroke your cheeks and your hair with his index finger. Sometimes he comes and lays on top of you for a cuddle while you are lying on one of us. He helps to change your nappy - dipping and squeezing out the cotton wool like a professional.
When you cry, he brings you one of your teddies or asks "Does she need boobie, Mummy?" You look a lot like your big brother did when he was brand new. The main differences are your nose - you have more heart-shaped nostrils, your hair - your tiny cowslick is right in the middle of your forehead (that's going to be fun to style!!) and the fact that you are a girl.
A rather beautiful girl, it has to be said. Completely and utterly scrumptious.
And yes, I've already enjoyed snuggling you up in various crochet blankets.
We're so pleased you're here, Baby O. Thank you so much for all the joy you have already brought us.
Love, Mummy
