Deep in conversation with Mr Orange Chicken.
Her first day in a dress.
Now, you wouldn't know it from this photo, but this is Miss O at Southwold beach. We had a lovely afternoon, despite the ominous clouds and wind, playing in the sand and splashing in the waves. What a lovely beach. We'll definitely have to go back again on a warmer day. Especially now we've discovered that the OTHER side of the pier is even lovelier!
Occasionally we got a glimpse of blue sky breaking through.
And it was warm enough to have a paddle. But Baby O slept through pretty much the whole experience! Predictably, she was then awake from 3:00 the next morning. WIDE awake. Then, as often happens, she drifted back to sleep just as Little R woke up. Oh well! I coped! Sleep is for wusses, anyway!
Look at this knowing smile. Happy girl. She likes when I sing and she also quite likes a bit of massage or some action songs, with me waving her chubby little arms about. Chubby really is the word of the moment (I've checked back with Little R's record - he was the same weight - in fact, rather heavier, at the same age! Surprising, because he was 9oz lighter at birth, and a week early!).
The other word of the moment, sadly, is bald. My poor baby girl is losing her hair. Not even in a patch at the back like most babies do. Like Little R, she has a seriously receding hairline. Soon she'll just have a little tuft of hair left on the top of her head! I had so hoped we'd avoid this. Lots of pretty sunhats will be required. (Little R spent a couple of months wearing a lot of woolly hats for the exact same reason.)
